There is no better description for Juliska’s tableware, than their own description.
It truly could be “the most beautiful tableware in the world“.
And I’m not the only one to think so – House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Metropolitan Home, Martha Stewart Living, countless celebrities, high end department stores and my very own book club all feel the same way!
What I love most about Juliska’s products is that they are FAMILY FRIENDLY.
(And it doesn’t hurt that they are BEAUTIFUL and FUNCTIONAL too.)
David and Capucine Gooding, the magicians behind Juliska, had a very clear vision. Inspired by their love of entertaining and all things European, they set out to design beautiful, functional and luxe tableware
for chic everyday living.
(Now what modern mom wouldn’t want that!?!)
In 2001, the Goodings launched “Juliska” and debuted a small collection of 40 authentic European Bohemian glass reproductions mouth blown outside the hills of Prague.
They then took the historical design themes of the glass, “raspberries and threading”
and translated them onto their ceramics, thus the “Berry and Thread” collection (my personal FAV, which happens to be ALL over my house!)
As Capucine Gooding states,
”Everything we design and create has an historical European reference as well as artisinal roots which we re-invent to meet the needs of modern living. And ALL of our ceramics are restaurant grade. Meaning dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer SAFE!”
Honestly, your family couldn’t have more functional tableware if you searched to the ends of the earth (and I have, I swear…or at least it feels like it).
To demonstrate what I mean, check Hayden out.
These were completely impromptu photos that Weestock images took
while they were doing an unrelated shoot for Addie.
Hayden was um, kinda, being ignored.
I left her (but I was still in the room) with her Juliska pasta bowl full of food and she went to town!
Here are a few of my favorite every day pieces:
I use my baking and casserole dishes daily.
THE COFFEE MUG that should go in the Coffee Mug Hall of Fame (if there was one!).
It’s listed in the Home Favorite’s Gallery too!
The Pasta Bowls are awesome for chili, pasta, gumbo, kids food, side dishes…
The Ramekins are a perfect size to make individual mac & cheese
(which I freeze in the dishes and pop them right in the oven
from the freezer when I cook them).
They also fit the yummy frozen Trader Joe’s Spinach dip perfectly…
into the microwave it goes, 4 minutes…
pure Heaven and a perfectly presented appetizer!
(Check out the Trader Joe’s Favorites Gallery.)
For the more modern folks, just so you don’t feel left out,
there is also a gorgeous, clean line Octavia Collection.
For the designer in you, how INCREDIBLE is their lighting!
And just when I thought Juliska’s product line up couldn’t get any better, they launch their “Pewter” line. Now I am an avid collector of table top – kinda of have an addiction if you asked Hubby. I currently have a number of wonderful pieces from Arte Italica and Match – HOWEVER, nothing comes close to the functionality & beauty of the Juliska Pewter (and I CAN’T wait to start collecting it!). And the MAGIC behind why it is so amazing….
IT’S NOT PEWTER, it’s GLAZED CERAMIC.
Do you know what that means – you got it…
Dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer SAFE.Â
OMG, I’ve died and gone to Heaven! Could you tell from the photo leading into this post??? Because I couldn’t. I had seen the ads, but didn’t know until I read this month’s House Beautiful which featured the Pewter Collection, and then I had to call Juliska to confirm.Â
WOW! This puts a whole new ease into entertaining!!
The Goodings also launched a wonderfully, sweet gift collection that I truly feel is fitting for this year, Cornerstones.
It was Juliska’s answer to “emotionally intelligent gifts” (How awesome does that sound!)
As David Gooding explains, “Gifts that speak directly to the need -
gifts that are inspirational and celebrate fundamental life values for those facing today’s new challenges.”
I love that they are perfectly thoughtful & affordable gifts, ranging from $20 – $36
and that they have a wonderful meaning secretly hidden beneath the dish.
“Friendship”, “Courage”, “Integrity”, or “Love”
Juliska does not sell from its website. But they are available to ship to you from their Connecticut Flagship store, or will gladly let you know a local store in your area that carries their tableware, just call Toll Free: 888.414.8448

We just bought a new house and now, of course, we need all new tableware to match our new kitchen. Our last set of dishes were given to us by the in-laws and lets just say, they are not my favorite. They’re mammoth, square, and gold with black on the bottoms. Yuck!
