another quick travel tip

Get your kids their passport.

I think the current (normal) quoted time is 6-8 weeks.

Piper’s came in 3 weeks.

I have gotten each Little their passport within a few months of birth.

It’s EASY!

Make an appointment (or walk in) at your local post office.

Or check here for local places for your area.

You will need your husband, your babes birth certificate & Social Security #, both parents IDs (drivers licenses) and a checkbook.

Fill out the application while hubs plays with baby.

(You can also do online and print, but if it doesn’t print PERFECTLY, you need to re-do)

Go to lunch after.

Easy.

Now you can enjoy any spur of the moment summer travel adventure that may arise.

Mexico

Canada

France.

The WORLD is your oyster!

(Then add a reminder alarm/note in your calendar 3-6 month prior to each family member’s passport expiration date)

A minors passport is good for 5 years.

Go now.

Great tip! I am thinking we’d be most likely to go to some Caribbean hot spots with the kids, or even for a cruise we’d need one.

Good call on the reminder, especially for Dad’s since that’s the one that usually about to expire just before the trip.

This would be really helpful, if I had thought of it a month ago… I’ve only got 2 weeks left before we leave.

What is the cost of a child’s passport? I’ve got three kids and one on the way!!! But my husband has been begging to go to Mexico and not having their passports is the excuse I’ve been hiding behind/using for the last few months. It’s time to give daddy a nice surprise, I think. He deserves it.

    Thanks!

Hi! That is just an adorable picture and just a very simple and informative post!

Yes, I agree on all your tips especially on the taking note of the expiry date part. This is most true when you have other future travelling plans and forget that you need to renew your passport. However, nowadays it is actually advisable to have it renewed 9 months before its expiry to give it all the ample time it takes for processing especially because these days, there are so many people renewing and applying for a passport.

Have a good trip and good luck on your blog!
