It’s been a little while since I’ve shared a new FAVORITE, so I thought it might be fun to throw one out there… (plus it’s been awhile for a GIVEAWAY! Be sure to scroll to the end!)
Now we are not starting preschool this fall, but do you really need to go to school to love a backpack???
I tend to obsess about things sometimes (who me?! what???). So I kinda went nutty looking for just the right backpack for the girls.
I wanted it to be small for their backs (didn’t really want them to look like sherpas…), it needed to have an outside pocket for a sippy cup, it couldn’t cost an arm and a leg, and um…..it needed to be CUTE. Yes, I know, I’m horrible and should let my girls pick whatever packs they want….but I DID, I PROMISE!!! I’ll be honest, I’m not really into princess, or character backpacks, but I did search at Target in case they had something that fit the criteria and it nearly killed me. Not that the girls need to be identical, but certain things they have to have EXACTLY the same otherwise World War 3 could start in our house. As my youngest sister told me while I was searching for gifts for my middle sisters kids, “be sure they are IDENTICAL” because one will always want what the other has. Same is true for my girls. And no matter how hard I tried, there was always only one…
It ended up being yet another frustarating day where I would have bought them Dora backpacks if I had found them, but didn’t. My fab right hand suggested I go to the swap meet. But that was a little too much effort for me (I’m thinking heat, sweat, carrying kids that don’t want to ride in the stroller. Nope.), but I did go back online (and trust me, I had done this before). This time I went to Amazon (seriously, I can solve almost every problem with Amazon, why I don’t just go there to begin with, I don’t know.). I typed in preschool backpacks and OMG, did I find a cute one!!!
So after naps, I let the girls see them online and choose what they wanted. Addie chose a Bumble Bee, Hayden wanted the Monkey
…..and they love them!! Carry them everywhere. You’ll likely find fruit from the fruit bowl, bath toys, leftover breakfast and mom’s “vintage” (meaning, I can no longer wear them if my life depended on it, but I’ll be damned if I throw them out!) bikini collection in there, but that’s ok, because they love ‘em, use ‘em, and play with ‘em!
Check out how cute these are, and $20 didn’t break the bank…

And just because Addie & Hay think backpacks are so fun, we thought we should give one away! So leave a comment telling us something fun you did this summer, or why you can’t wait for school to start, or about any old thing you want. We’ll pick a winner and announce it Friday (kind of like a celebration for the first week of school…).
Bee quick about it y’all!
Have a great weekend and good luck!
(Disclosure: Skip Hop does not know who I am, Addie & Hay just wanted to give one away since they didn’t get to enjoy all the “back to school” clothes shopping that comes with going to school…)

These are adorable! My daughter would love it. I would be curious about how they fit once you get them. My daughter is almost 2 and based on the pics it looks like it might be too big for her.

Hey becky, we already have them, use them and love them! They fit my 18 mos old and 2 1/2 yo perfectly. They are preschool size

Super cute backpacks! And I totally agree with your comment about being able to solve all problems with Amazon! What in the WORLD did mothers do before the internet and online shopping? So glad I’ll never have to find out…..
[Reply]
Me too my friend, ME TOO!

I can totally relate about Amazon! I drive myself crazy driving all over OC looking for something but find it hours (days?!) later when I finally go to Amazon and spend 3 minutes typing in a search and looking through the results!

So cute! My boys have ones from Pottery Barn kids, but they are a bit too big. Would love one of these!

oh my goodness, this would be perfect for my daughter! we are having baby #2 in no time and i was just saying, “i think she needs to carry her own bag for her stuff”. problem solved!!! thanks for sharing.

These are adorable!! My little guy Aiden always tries to carry his older sisters backpack. Would have totally come in handy for him on our daytrip to the mountains… He dragged his sisters around till he rubbed holes in the bottom of it!!

Oh, I hope I’m not too late to enter! These are so cute! And, my little girl just loves bumblebees.
And I’m with you- I’m steering clear of the character-themed things as long as I possibly can!

My foundest memory of going back to school was getting a new backpack. My coworkers and I were just talking about it actually. I had to HAD to have a new Jansport every year. Too funny! those are totally cute. I want it! :)

Soooooooo CUTE! I love these! I do have a preschooler starting two weeks from Monday (counting the days…um…did I just say that?) and one of these fun backpacks would be a great back to school item!

We have had a great summer with some fun trips to Sea World! My daughter would LOVE to have her own backpack to bring on our outings!!!! I have a skip hop diaper bag and lunch bag- LOVE them!! :)

Perfect for my son starting Montessori in a few weeks! And I was the mom that let my kindergartner pick her way too-big hello kitty backpack – not my ave choice but I figured with uniforms and a strict catholic school dress code it was the least I could let my fashionista do :)
[Reply]
Oh for sure you have! Uniforms REQUIRE a little freedom :-)

These are too cute! My daughters would love these too! We created a summer fun list with all kinds of things the kids wanted to do….eat noodles for breakfast, ride in the Orange Balloon, visit the farmers market, etc….sad for summer (and our list) to be coming to a close!
[Reply]
Your list sounds so cute! I might have to try that!

These are sooo cute! I was looking for the same thing and even though my two yr old wouldn’t be in school I knew she had to have a backpack too.
This summer we built sand castles at the beach, and took kiddie pool to the beach the girls. Loved it!

I love these backpacks and would absolutely love one for my 2 year old :)

My 20 month old would love a backpack so he could be just like his older brothers! He tries to wear the big one and about falls over even with nothing in it:-) CUTE!

We are currently on a vacation to Utah and Colorado. Having a blast. It will be nice when school begins for my oldest so that I can get some special time with my youngest. The backpacks are amazing!!!!!
[Reply]
This summer we enjoyed a week at Tahoe. The best part was renting bikes and then getting huge ice cream cones after the ride. Love the backpacks!
[Reply]
My 22 month old daughter would absolutely love one these backpacks. Her twin brothers just started Kindergarten and she wants everything they have. It would be nice for her to have anything non- truck related!
[Reply]
These are adorable backpacks. My little Blessings (both girls) would absolutely love them! Especially like that they have a spot for the sippy cup!

The backpacks are super cute!!! Well, the HIGHLIGHT of our summer was Cole learning to swim with Dan. There were many tears shed during the learning process… plus a few cries of “help me” thrown in for good measure. When he was still crying on the 2nd to last day, I was worried he wouldn’t make a breakthrough and I literally cried myself that night. It felt like a miracle when he swam to me over and over again on the last day. It all lead to a fabulous summer of fun in the pool. We will be forever grateful for your recommendation. Your blog has truly impacted my family in many ways. Thank you and keep the favorites coming!!!
[Reply]
You are so sweet! And I’m so glad Dan was able to help Cole!! Addie is a completely independent swimmer now jumping in at the deep end and swimming across the pool….LOVE not having to worry as much at the pool when there are 2 other babes that need attention too. And we loved all your favorites you shared with us. Thank you! Hope we’ll see you again next summer for more swim lessons!
[Reply]
my dude is a little small for school, but I bet he would love a backpack. One fun thing we did this summer was get a car which means lots of trips to the beach, pool at my parents house and time with family!

Those are the cutest little backpacks EVER! The more fun we had this summer was taking my daughter up to Traverse City, MI to the same place my family went every summer. My family was able to meet us up there for a few days and we all had a blast. It was amazing to play with my daughter in the same pool that I had grown up playing in….really special! Great memories for sure. :)

My favorite thing about back to school is that I am not going back! I am a teacher-turned-stay-at-home-mom this year! Whoo hoo!!
[Reply]
Oh good grief- are these ever sweet! Favorite parts of summer? Warm weather here in the North, bare feet, sprinklers and summer sun soaking. And that would just be four of my mental list of about one hundred. :)
[Reply]
Not sure if it is to late to enter but I’m trying anyway!! Never to late right? My little girl would adore this. She is into everything Monkey and she is my little Monkey. What a cool Mom I would be!! Hope to win, if not, could you please share how you found these on Amazon, who makes them? Thanks so much. Pick me, pick me pretty, pretty, pretty please!!!!!
[Reply]
Nope, not too late! You’re entered!! The packs are made by Skip Hop. The links above, “Monkey” and “Bumble Bee” will take you to the packs on Amazon and you can scroll through for different characters. Thanks!

These are the cutest backpacks! My daughter was just complaining because her backpack doesn’t have a drink holder like her brothers does…..
Our favorite part of summer was taking the kids to Sea World in San Diego. It was a first for the family and the kids enjoyed every minute of it.
[Reply]
My 2.5 year old would love this! The best thing we’ve done this summer was going on a family picnic at irvine regional park. Just the four of us to have fun and love on each other.
[Reply]
Adorable! My new preschooler would love the MONKEY!!
[Reply]
Oh those are darling and I am sure my little man would love one! We went to Bass Lake this summer and nothing is better than watching the kids jump in the water, swim to the ladder, climb up and jump again!
Shhhh don’t tell but I really don’t want school to start again, I like having those sweet little ones around!
[Reply]
