happiness, good health, laughter, prosperity & good fortune!

Wishing you all much happiness, good health, laughter, prosperity and good fortune!

It was a BUSY week and weekend in our house, and I’m finding the “To Do” list is getting longer, the weeks before Baby #3 are getting shorter, and I’m getting more and more behind!  I apologize for not keeping up as I had planned to…I’m crossing my fingers I can get better at all of this!  Until then, here are a few photos from our Chinese New Year/Valentine/February Birthday Party.  Hope  you all had a wonderful day as well!

Ours started with,

“WHOA, Mama, LOOK!”

We also  had spent the week making finger paint Valentine hearts to wrap the gifts
for cousins, grandparents, uncles & aunts.

(Completely easy project, then tape them to colored gift bags…
goes along with my love for gift labels!)

Addie and Hayden were quite excited with the cute fleece heart blankets I found at Target.

I had them each monogrammed with their names to eliminate any future fights.

A few rounds of “Where’s Dada?!!?” took place….

Then a little quiet reading time…

Until the family came over for dinner.

I didn’t put much time into this, didn’t have it to give.

I bought the tulips at Trader Joe’s the night before while I did the grocery shopping.

I had leftover Chinese votives from a Dim Sum party about 9 years ago
(that I bought at Cost Plus originally).

Made a few Chinese lanterns (total of 10 minutes).

Printed out some Chinese New Years sayings
and put them in silver bamboo Pottery Barn frames
leftover from our wedding. (Again, about 5 minutes time)

I  missed photographing dinner.  But we had Pick up Stix.  I ordered it online for 5:00 pickup.

Hubby left at 4:57 and was home at 5:05 with dinner.

We had Trader Joe’s Edabame, and Rice cracker snacks
along with my mom’s homemade wontons for appetizers.

This was dessert.

I would NEVER forget to photograph dessert.

I made a pound cake. (15 minute recipe, that bakes for an hour).
I’ll post it this week.

Had ordered chocolate covered fortune cookies for about $8.

Then made chocolate fondue, and Genius sister-in-law brought yummy fruit.

Addie shared kisses and loved her cute applique Valentine shirt.

Hayden loved her nightgown from Grams and Gramps!

All in all, a successful night!  Hope  you’re weekend was fabulous too!

I’ll have the weekly menu posted later today.  Monday night we are having leftover Chinese!

And hopefully I’ll be able to get back on my game better with posts this week!!

Off to bed and to start prepping for the next party…..

  1. Great photos! Brilliant quick party planning. Everthing looks gorgeous, especially with fabulous servingware. XO

  2. Well if there’s anyone who can get it “all” done before baby #3, you could! Looked like a FUN party, for sure :)

Are your little girls redheads? They are adorable!

This is a little random, but I see a jute or sisal type of rug in one of your photos. We need a rug in our living room! I really like this kind with the natural fibers & I think their price point is a bit less…but I’m worried they would be too rough on my future kid’s hands & knees….what do you think? Any brand ideas? :)

  3. LOVE the shirts! Made similar ones for my boys. What a fabulous Vday you planned! Going to find some cute blankets and have the boys’ names monogrammed on those. Great idea! Where did you find your kitchen chairs?

  4. Oh my goodness I love Valentine’s Day and you definitely went all out! Everything looked absolutely brilliant and beautiful. The kids’ outfits are adorable and you decorated so nicely!
