Hope everyone had a relaxing, fun, entertaining, productive, lazy….or whatever you wanted your Labor Day weekend to be! It was certainly the exclamation point for our family, ending a very busy couple of weeks!!!
That being said, my tip today is that even with the craziest of days.
The busiest of schedules.
The hair.pulling.out-too.much.on.the.calendar-not.enough.time.in.the.day, kinda weeks and weekends we all have….
Stopping for a minute to hide from monsters….
Well, it will just put a smile on your face, and a memory in your heart to keep with you always.
Addie managed to dodge all the monsters, but my to do list and 100s of emails to be answered were all still waiting for me, the monsters were worth it though!!
Stay tuned, later today (Tuesday) I’ll have winners for the backpack, and cookies posted! WhooHoo!!
Enjoy your short week (does that really mean anything when you don’t work outside the home anymore???? Oh well, guess that’s another sweet memory for my heart…)

Hiding from monsters is totally worth postponing that to-do list!

I just have to say that I marvel at your photography skills and wanted to ask you about both your experience in photography as well as your ability to have just the right light in every shot!!! :-). Also, what kind of camera are you using? Inquiring minds want to know :-).

You’re very sweet, thank you! I actually was a simple point and shoot girl until I started this blog last fall. My favorite kids photographer gave me some tips. I bought the camera and lens she recommended, and honestly, I just play with it. I 99.9% of the time have it set on auto. I do try to keep whatever I’m shooting in natural light as that makes a world of difference. I also take about 5,000….ok not that many, but over 100 photos sometimes that I edit and pick the best. I supposed that could be cheating, but I’m going to go with its the only way I can catch these littles in a good shot! Here is the link to the post with the camera and lens that I use. Good luck!!

I love when my kids distract me and remind me what it is like to be a carefree kid.

These photos are awesome!!! You always manage to capture such sweet moments just as they happened… do you carry your camera on your hip?

Haaa!!! Well not exactly! BUT, the days I take photos are normally the days I’m at home with the girls on my own and my camera is always a “dash” away. We have an open floor plan in our home, and my camera is normally on the kitchen counter, or my office desk. When I take the kids outside, I often wear it messenger style around my neck, flipping the camera behind me so it doesn’t smack the kids or break. But that way it’s always close by :-) I can’t get these years back with them, so I gotta grab the shots when I can…I want them to know how cute they were when they are my age.
