cookies, ice cream, & feet

When you are trying to shed baby lbs…Picky Palate’s blog is not one you should visit daily. But then DARN HER, if she doesn’t tweet out these super tantalizing tweets that just DARE me to open the links to check out her latest creation.  Oh I might hate her if she wasn’t so cute and nice!

A little while back she posted a recipe for Ice Cream Cookies, wait, what!?!?  Ice Cream?  In COOKIES??? I tried to ignore it, but I just kept thinking about them….Wouldn’t you??  LOOK AT THEM!

Then last week when I was FED UP and about to throw my computer out the window (this is my view, by the way, as I tried to solve the WORLD of problems on my computer…)

So I gave in and declared, I NEED TO BAKE THESE COOKIES.  Trouble was, life got in the way, and I never got a chance to do it until today. But today finally I MADE THEM!! (It was my reward for losing 10 lbs!!!  Yippee!!)

Addie & Hay helped.

I mean is there ANYTHING better than cookie batter on a beater!?!?

“Alwee you need to cwean your face…”

I added a couple things…

I’m a sucker for Heath Bits in cookies. DELICIOUS.

And I only had 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips.

But I had loads of leftover candy in the freezer from the birthday party.

And I had Cookies ‘n Cream Ice Cream, instead of Vanilla to use up…

This was the YUM result!!!  HEAVEN!

But then I wanted to try ‘em a little bigger.

Picky Palate often uses a muffin top pan to make bigger cookies.

Yeah, don’t have one.

But I have a muffin tin.

I scooped the same size ice cream scoop into a non stick muffin pan.

(I always use an ice cream scoop for cookies, super easy).

I baked them a couple minutes longer, like 13 total.

They are were GOOD!

OK, so now your probably wondering where the “feet” come in from the title.

Well Piper proved she was a multi-tasker today too.

After I popped the muffin tin in the oven, I realized I meant to take a photo.

But now I was feeding Piper her bottle, and she would be PEEVED if I stopped.

I held her with my left hand, balancing the bottle under my chin.

(You KNOW you have all been there!)

With my right hand I grabbed my camera.

With my 2 remaining unused fingers, I opened the oven door and snapped that photo above.

Then I turned and put the camera on the counter next to the oven.

As I turned away, I felt the camera pulling off the counter.

AAAGGGGGHHHHHHH…..

Baby? Camera? Baby? Camera?

How could I have been so stupid!?!?!?

Why did I need to OVER multi-task!?!?!?

Wait…

There was no crash.

Where’s the camera???

I carefully peered over little Piper’s horizontal body.

The camera strap was hanging on her foot.

This little foot.

The camera was just…..dangling….

on this amazing, beautiful, I am forever grateful for…

Little Foot.

Now go visit Picky Palate and bake these cookies

I can promise you I ate at least ten after all that!

Thanks Picky Palate for a new favorite recipe!!

Congrats on your weight loss! And i was just thinking – so many precious moments in our life are just regular moments in other people’s lives – this foot story is the perfect example. It may just be something that sticks in your head forever and she will never know (unless of course you recount the story for her every time you make cookies or something. :-) )

Congrats on the weight loss. I am still working on my last 5 pounds postpartum – ugh! I loved this post, so funny. The cookies look divine. What a great idea to bake them in a muffin tin. I am all for bigger cookies! And I love, love, love that the baby caught the camera with her foot – priceless.
