Fungus Pharm Certified Organic Soybean Oil

Ok with a title like that, you were afraid to open this post, weren’t you???  I would have been!

From time to time, I’m going to start highlighting some of the items in the Favorites Gallery. I figure you all don’t have time to go through it all the time, so this is a quick and easy way to tell you about some of the things I really love and use a lot. I originally wrote this last year when the blog first launched, so as an update to what I wrote then, in January all the roses were cut back, and since growing in again this year I have been treating them every 2 weeks with the spray.  NO POWDERY MILDEW at all!  None, zilcho, nada, nothing!  LOVE THAT!  Just beautiful roses!

We have a great resource for gardening in Orange County, Rogers Gardens. They have the most educated staff who are more than happy to help you figure out your garden. I will be the first one to tell you I don’t have a green thumb, but I do like a pretty garden and I follow instruction well (well at least when I want to, but that’s another post for another day).

For Mother’s Day last year year, Mike and the Littles gave me a whole ton of Iceberg Roses for the front and back yards. They were so beautiful to look at that day!  A very special Mom’s Day gift. But as many of you know, Iceberg Roses in particular tend to be susceptible to Powdery Mildew especially where we live.  I did a bunch of research online, and then opted for trusty Rogers Gardens. They were as helpful as ever saying that the Fungus Pharm Certified Organic Soybean Oil would do the trick to help get rid of and keep the mildew away. (And secretly I loved that the treatment was organic as our girls are in the yard all day long…)

This spray is brilliant!

Rogers suggested that I do it once every 2 weeks and to split the original bottle between 2 bottles and add water to make up the difference. I spray the roses as they instructed and presto, 95% gone and the roses are beautiful! (Or as I said in my update above – NONE this year, 100% gone!)

So spray away and start enjoying beautiful roses this summer!! I set a 2 week reminder on my computer calendar and never forget.
