Where to begin with this particular goodness…hmmmm.
Simply put, PHYTO hair products have saved my life.
Yes, I know that sounds dramatic, but in all honesty, with 3 pregnancies in 3 years, this is the FIRST TIME I have not lost half a head of hair!!! You would think just HAVING 3 kids, 2 years old and younger, would make me lose ALL of my hair. Somehow, these 3 miracle bottles have given me a whole new outlook on product promises.
So to begin, I was contacted by PHYTO while I was still in the hospital with Piper. They offered to send a little goody package of things for me to try post pregnancy. I’m only writing about the hair care in this post, (but there is more goodness to write about, just wait and see!). I had remembered using PHYTO shampoo in college. Do you remember the cute glass pharmacy style bottles?? (I loved the look of them, I’m a visual geek that way). It used to be a favorite for me and I’m not sure what phased me onto something else, but none the less, I was super excited to be reunited with an old favorite.
After scanning the site, I noticed products for thinning hair and “hair loss“. To say I experienced “hair loss” with Addie and Hayden would be an understatement! I could have supplied a bear with a fur coat of hair for the winter!! I was surprised ANY hair was still left on my head!!! I have not been able to nurse my babes, therefore, my hair loss isn’t related to nursing or not. At the 3 month mark, I kid you not, ALL but 2 strands of hair fall out of my head. Couple this with the fact that my kids are 11 months and 13 months apart and my hair has lived in a blender..
pregnant
not pregnant…er, I mean pregnant
but then not, oh wait, yep pregnant….
I’ve dealt with hair loss and regrowth simultaneously longer than I care to admit. We have affectionatley dubbed my regrowth around my face “Ewok Ears” (you TOTALLY know what I’m talking about!!)
But when I saw my brave fabulous hair stylist at mile marker “3 months” this time (3 months 1 week to be exact). She says, “ I have never seen your hair so healthy!“ OK so that would mean, pre babies, during pregnancies, between, during, between, again during, and then now she has never seen it this healthy. She has been doing my hair for well on 15+ years….
I HAVE NOT LOST HAIR THIS TIME AROUND!!! WHAT!?!?!?!
What have I been doing you ask???
- I’m lucky to wash my hair 3 times a week, and I typically don’t dry it unless I have a work function to go to, or something important. I just don’t have the time typically. So maybe blow dry & flat iron twice a week.
- I wash it with the Phytocyane Revitalizing Shampoo
.
- I condition it with whatever is in the shower. At the moment, Biolage Color Care Conditioner
.
- I use the Phytocyane Revitalizing Serum
each time I wash my hair. (Not the recommended program, but I can only do what works for me, which should also show you that you don’t need to follow the directions letter for letter).
- I take the Phytophanere Dietary Supplement – Hair & Nails
maybe 3 times a week. It’s all about when I remember to do it.
So doing just those simple things above, consistently for the past 3 months, I have NOT LOST ANY HAIR AFTER PIPER WAS BORN! This is “an intensive 1-month program that targets temporarily thinning hair due to stress, fatigue, pregnancy, medication, or seasonal changes. Recommended for women“
(BTW – Kinda laughing at the program description. I tend to think a few glasses of wine or a margarita could help too!!”)
Check this out on Sephora’s site. They sell all the products as a package deal, but more importantly, check out the success rates of users!!! And even though it says 1 month supply, that’s exactly how much I have and I’m on month 3 and still have not used everything up yet…just sayin’ …I also found the package deal on Amazon. Honestly, I know each persons’ results will vary, but I can promise you that it’s worth giving these products a shot if you have just had a baby, or are about to, or are noticing more hair than usual leave your head, YIKES! They have a new customer in me for sure!!

hi .. nice posting .. i wanna share something related to hair loss. have you tried garlic ?
While the pharmaceutical might have side effect and addicted, this garlic hair loss home remedy is believed to have no side effect and not addicted. However, the time until the result appeared might be longer than the pharmaceutical. If you see a good result, you could continue to do it regularly.

my hair is actually really thick and frizzy to begin with… although you wouldn’t think so… i always have to get it thinned out at the stylist… so i was thankful when my hair fell out at three months post-pregnancy! i’ve been using Phyto products for years (the de-frizz product)… and they really work… in fact, i find the effects are cumulative… the more you use them, the better they work!

Yes, the hair loss post pregnancy is challenging even for those of us with alot of hair but then the regrowth! I too will have 3, 2 yrs and under come August and all the little “farkies” as a dear friend calls the short hairs framing your face as it grows in are just as challenging! How do you highlight them…what to do w/ them when you wear your hair up…you get the idea :) Thanks for the tip…would love to try their products!

My hair going flat mid-day is my biggest frustration. I am 4.5 month post-prego and am beginning to experience that again- while pregnant my hair had much more body and volume than ever before… but now I’m back :(

My hair was beautiful during pregnancy! Shiny. Soft. Healthy. Then I had my son. It went from shampoo commercial lovely to scarecrow straw! It was so lifeless, dry, and dull. It has taken me months and months to get it back to normal. I’d love to try these products and see what they would do for it!

I remember being 4 or 5 months pregnant and LOVING my new thick hair. I just was so much more manageable and looked amazing without having to do much to it.
Now, go to 4 or 5 months post pregnancy…pretty much in tears each time I showered….the whole tub would be filled with hair….I could of have supplied enough for a wig!!!! I became so upset and so worried, I was going to the dermotologist about it. Of course he just says it was because of pregnancy, but I kept trying to explain to him, this can’t be normal for all the hair that is falling out.
Now…my daughter is two and the talk of another baby is on the way. I am nervous about the whole weight gain issue (gained 54 with my first), but I am ALSO just as freaked about the whole hair issue.
So, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to win this product to see if I get the same results as you did!!!

I think worse than the losing of my hair after having my daughter is the re-growth I have going on now. I highlight my hair, and those pieces just look odd when they grow out, and they fly out everywhere when I pull my hair up. ugh…would love to try anything that would help…especially to have ready to go next time around!

I never knew what to call them, but those annoying strands that grow back in around your face…. aargh!!! It would be amazing not to lose all that hair after my next pregnancy!

While I can certainly relate to the post-pregnancy hair adventures, I would really love to get these Phyto products for a most-deserving friend! After giving birth to 3 baby girls in 2 years (a single, then twins) my girlfriend struggled with the illness and death of her own mother. Needless to say, her hair became thinner and thinner until the whole top of her head was see-thru-to-scalp. Slowly her hair started to grow back when she got pregnant again. 3 weeks ago she gave birth to her fourth child – a beautiful baby boy. I would love to be able to give her the gift of keeping her hair this time!

My hair fell out in handfuls after my pregnancy, which I semi-expected. What I did NOT expect was the re-growth. I had tiny fuzzy hairs that popped out all over my head. Now they’re one inch hairs. I look like chia pet!
I had to cut bangs because my hairline looked so bizarre. We want to have another baby eventually and of all the hoops you go through being pregnant and post-delivery, this is one that I’m really dreading.

Can you say hair, hair, hair everywhere! We have a dog and I think I shed more than her… I find long brown strands of hair all around the house. The worst thing is I’ve already broken two (yes two) hand held vacuums from using them on the bathroom floor after blow drying. I’m sick of it!!
Nursing really wipes it out! I thought I was going to go bald at one point. Now I’m done nursing (my baby girl is almost 1) but it is still falling out. I would welcome the help.
Thanks for your post!!

I NEED this product. I used to have thick hair, and now after three babes my hair is much thinner. Some of it gorws back but not to the thickness it once was. My biggest peave about losing the hair is centered on the re-growth. I HATE the wispys that line my entire hairline. No more pony tails for me, which is a shame because with 3 kids “doing” my hair in the morning is not a luxury I get anymore.

I’ve never been pregnant, but this sounds like a great product. My frustration with my hair is that it tends to get frizzy and heavy.

Oh and my biggest hair frustration before pregnancy was fine, thinning hair…which I luckily have a fair amount of. Then loved my hair during pregnancy and then not so much postpregnancy because I lost hair that I feel I cannot afford to lose!

My post-preggo hair is awful. It falls out in clumps in the shower & while attempting to fix my hair. It also seems to get damaged a lot easier even though I am styling it far less. I get split/damaged ends like crazy now, when I hardly got them at all pre-preggo.
