My youngest sister is brilliant.
Beautiful, creative, talented…..BRILLIANT!
And she can give a good gift card gift! So often we struggle with what to buy someone for their birthday, Christmas, anniversary, you name the occasion and we have all scratched our heads endlessly trying to think of the perfect gift….and panicked when we get to the night before with still nothing. (OK – maybe some of you perfect folks have not, but I for one have been there MANY times!)
So I love seeing what both of my sisters come up with as they are filled with gift inspiration!
This was my birthday present from my youngest sister this past February. Gift cards to pick out some new shoes! Now not only does this look darling, but it was perfectly thought out. She was afraid to choose shoes for me, but knew that my “new post prego feet” were proving challenging. So often we turn up our noses at giving gift cards, wishing instead to think of something “perfect”. The fact is, a gift card CAN be perfect. It’s all in the presentation!
And by the way, my middle sister had her own BRILLIANT idea which she rolled into a birthday and baby gift. What mom with a newborn wouldn’t want Starbucks in their kitchen? OK, maybe not Starbucks, but an EASY and FAST way to have a latte (or 5, but who’s counting) to get your morning going??
I live for my Nespresso latte EVERY morning! My 2 year old even knows how to work it and “helps” mom make her coffee each day. I think this would be a fabulous group baby shower gift to give a new family!
So my tip for today is to think outside of the box with your gifts! There are a lot of fun and easy ones to be given!
Enjoy your week everyone and be sure to stop by tomorrow for a fun favorite!!

No doubt, those are terrific gift ideas; especially the Starbucks in your own kitchen! :)

I like to use gift cards which allows my friends to pick their own gifts. The “Starbucks” in your kitchen is intresting, but I like the single cup Keurig K Cup in the morning.

It definitely depends on the gift card. If its a store that the receiver LOVES than I’m all about gift cards. However, I’ve received gift cards in the past for stores I a) don’t shop at or b) don’t have that store within a 50 mile radius. To me, that’s not a very thoughtful gift. I like putting a lot of thought into a gift and knowing the person is going to enjoy it (gift card or whatever).
And who wouldn’t want Starbucks in their kitchen?!

Wow! I just checked out that espresso maker and it looks awesome. Ours just broke (we got it before we were married) and I don’t know what to do with myself.
Your sisters certainly have good taste!

such a clever way to give a gift card. whenever i give gift cards, i always make sure it is to one of their favorite stores – so it is appreciated! i’ve done a few things to “dress” up the packaging, but this is brilliant! I love it!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Nespresso maker. I used to happily drive to my local Peet’s every morning, but when Kelsey was born, dragging a newborn in and out of the car everyday just wasn’t working anymore. I’ve been perfectly happy with the quality of Nespresso coffee (Peet’s is a high bar!), although if you’re a latte drinker like me, I recommend buying a model with an integrated milk steamer not the separate pot…it works, but didn’t get the milk quite as hot as I like.

OK, that is too cute! But I agree – The Nespresso makes the BEST coffee hands down – no sugar needed, no bitter taste!

I love the look of that Nespresso! Kinda retro and cool. It would be great to have an Americano made at home… but if it wasn’t for coffee shops, I might never leave the house before noon.
