I had such a fun date night with my 2 year old little last week! We went to see the Greatest Show on Earth, Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey’s, “Barnum’s FUNundrum” last Wednesday. (If you missed the details, check this post out). My girlfriend and I took our older kids (Older!! Ha!! They are 2 and 3!!) and had a ball! The girls were in awe and amazement! (And we liked the fact we could actually strap them both down in car seats and were able to catch up and visit in the car the whole way there! Unheard of now a days!)
There were definitely times in the show that were bit slower, that didn’t hold the attention of the young Littles as much, but all in all a very fun event to take the kids to. We actually went again on Saturday with a whole bunch of the Littles’ Cousins….(6, 4, 2, 1-1/2, 1, 5 mos, 2 weeks……oye….) Not sure who was the bigger circus, us or the show!
I HIGHLY recommend going to the pre-show. If you have a show ticket, then you can go to the pre-show. It’s all access, 1 hour before show time. You see all the performers up close, they do a few pre-show acts, pass out temporary tattoos, and clown noses, all in all do a really great job of getting everyone super excited about the FUNundrum to come! The show will be in Anaheim at the Honda Center until this weekend. Be sure to check out Ticketmaster for all upcoming shows throughout the US.
Check out what an MFE reader, Paige, had to say in the comments of my earlier Circus post:
“We live in LA and took my 3 year old son last weekend at the Staples Center. We LOVED it. It was so much better than I ever expected. Thanks for the recommendation. We can’t wait to go back next year. The preshow was great because he could meet the clowns and see the elephants and stilt walkers up close. It was a great way to start the show. Wouldn’t have gone without seeing it on your post. Thanks!”
The girls were sooooo excited about their circus adventure…
OK, seriously, check them out, checking out the show program…..HI-LAR-IOUS!!!
And off they go to discover the pre-show…
Whoa! The acts were all up close and personal…
Don’t forget to grab a clown nose…
Addie just took it all in in awe.
And it begins.
So much excitement!
Still in awe…
Wouldn’t you be?!? HOW do they do that!?
This? Well this is a whole other story.
The photo below is my VERY BRAVE mother-in-law.
I think what is most frightening to me about this photo, is that the youngest grandchild was asleep in her car seat when I took it. Had she been in the photo, then this would have been any given day when my husband was growing up with his family. My VERY BRAVE mother-in-law was a trooper rounding up 6 little rascals everyday. That would kill me. She amazes me daily!
(And no, this is not all the Gran Littles, it’s just the local ones. Are you starting to picture the holidays??) A circus I tell ya. Our life is a WHOLE LOTTA FUNUNDRUM!

You had an awesome time, I can tell! Love the circus and can’t wait till my youngest is old enough to really enjoy so we can go! Thanks for telling about the pre-show! I never knew they did that.
Come by when you can…
