Big Girl Shoes

Since we have been talking about Big Girl Panties, I thought it only fair to also mention Big Girl Shoes. Birdie’s Big-Girl Shoes to be more specific.

My Little Punks and I adore this book. A.D.O.R.E.

Seriously, check out our book’s well loved pages.

I’m pretty sure we read it every day, and more than a couple of times.

Don’t you just remember being this little girl? I do. I LOVED playing with my mom’s shoes. There were these tall beautiful black Giorgio Armani shoes with sparkly toes that I tried on every chance I could!! Pretty sure I held my share of cat walk performances in my mom’s room with those shoes….

And BOY do our girls love playing with mine (and since my closet has become a museum of fabulous shoes that I can barely wear anymore, why not!!?)

I die.

Not just for the shoe line up (and the darling illustration portraying it all).

But also for the little girl in the middle of the closet. With what I chose to believe is red hair just like my Little Punkin’ heads.

Ohhhhhh, if only I looked as wonderful in our tea parties!!  (I may or may not currently be wearing Ugg slippers, a puffer vest, and my jammies….).

Addie was given this book for her second birthday last year.  I immediately picked a few images to place in frames in the girls’ room, I just loved it so much. Do the illustrations look familiar? Sujean Rim is the illustrator behind Daily Candy. She has also been commissioned for illustrations by Tiffany & Co, Barneys NY, and Target. My kind of girl!

Ms. Rim has no idea who I am, we just happen to consider Birdie’s Big-Girl Shoes a favorite in our household. I’m pretty share your little girl will love it too.

Enjoy!

Love that you framed some of the images – they look like they will be be great even as your girls get bigger.
