a helpful reminder

Having little helpful reminders are good.  Goodness knows with each pregnancy I clearly lost more brain cells than I ever started with, so now I pretty much know nothing, and remember nothing.

Case in point, packing for my trip with the girls I made a quick dash out to the car to get something. My running shoes were also outside by the stroller.  I put them on the front doormat so that I wouldn’t forget to bring them inside to pack.  When I got back to the house from the…

sanity saver

So fun to get all our your emails and questions!!  Please know that I will try my very best to answer you.  I am VERY slow at replying!!  I don’t mean to be, but well, there are these 3 kids that seem to take up A LOT of time….

Anywhoooo, one of the questions I often get is what does my daily schedule look like…and I’ve been meaning to post that one for quite some time.  But it’s somewhat of a moving target, no day is ever perfect! I will get to that post…

another quick travel tip

Get your kids their passport.

I think the current (normal) quoted time is 6-8 weeks.

Piper’s came in 3 weeks.

I have gotten each Little their passport within a few months of birth.

It’s EASY!

Make an appointment (or walk in) at your local post office.

Or check here for local places for your area.

You will need your husband, your babes birth certificate & Social Security #, both parents IDs (drivers licenses) and a…

owl bag...."who" knew!

Holy Moly! Did I get a lot of emails and comments about the owl bag!!  Who knew???

I’m always amazed at what things draw the most comments and emails, and it’s almost always opposite of what I would think…crazy!  Which makes me think I really need to ask what other things you all would love to know or hear about???  Please, please leave me comments and let me know!  I am not always able to reply to every comment, but I promise, I

great pack 'n go snack!

The day I started shopping at Trader Joe’s I think a whole new world opened up to me!

(isn’t that a line in a movie???)

One of my, OK my husband’s favorite snacks,

(because mine would the chocolate peanut butter cups…just sayin’)

is the individual packages of almonds.

If you can have a snack pack of chips, raisins, and crackers, why not almonds??

The “Just a handful” individual packages are perfect…

tab it baby ~ part 2

A few months ago, I wrote about my new favorite organization tool
that let me make up a project binder just the way I wanted it

I use this binder every hour of every day!

But what makes this binder work is the awesome removable tabs.

I am WAY BEYOND IN LOVE with these tabs…

My newest way to use them is in my Flat Belly Diet Family Cookbook.

Because I’m…

organizing tips

This tip has to do with helping to get yourself organized.  It comes from BabyCenter and although a REALLY, REALLY long list…there is LOTS of great info and very helpful tips.

Their first 5 are some of my favorites:

  1. Commit to change
  2. Take it slow
  3. Keep it simple
  4. Sort & purge
  5. Store things sensibly

Some others from the list that I really like and our family does as well:

Find a key spot for your keys.
We have a bowl in the kitchen for ALL keys (and sunglasses),…

back to basics ~ master closet

A few weeks ago I had one of those moments you see in cartoons where the character yells so loud and so long that the whole world around him FREEZES.

You know what I’m talking about.

When water shooting out of a fire hydrant freezes in mid shoot…

The person jumping is somehow suspended indefinitely in his jump….

The world just stops and stares at the source of the yell waiting for the OK to return to life.

Well that’s what

i've seen a vision...a bosch vision...and I want one!

How often do you read something like this, “I went to laundry training and I LOVED IT!”? I’m pretty sure you don’t read it all that often.

But truly, I did, love it that is!  I actually am totally and completely in love with the new Bosch Vision Washer & Dryer and have been racking my brain for creative ways to sell our current machines. (And they aren’t bad, they are front loaders and are only two years old….)…

back to basics ~ the container store

Somehow I don’t think this is what The Container Store had in mind when they said we needed to hang our laundry….but hey, my ovens are next to the very small laundry room and it works!

In keeping with the theme Back to Basics, I’m going to focus on Laundry and Laundry Rooms this week.

I’m a huge fan of organization.  I love The Container Store.  Don’t believe me?  Read this and this.  Trust me…

the need for getting back to basics

Last week was a meet your maker week for me.  I had hit a wall and needed to regroup. I love my family, my husband, my Littles.  But I was struggling to make it all work for us and for me.  My sweet husband and suggested I take some time off, maybe get a massage.  The problem with this is that I would still come back to the problem.  My closets would still be a mess, my extra baby weight would still be there, and…

getting back to basics

I posted a tweet last Thursday that overwhelmed me with how many responses I received back:

I feel blessed to be able to write this blog.  I love writing this blog. I love “meeting” all of you. My head is filled all day with posts I would love to write and tips I want to share…

I love getting your emails asking for what I actually pack in my diaper bag. How do we travel with all the Littles?  What does your day look like from dawn to dusk? What’s your favorite restaraunt…

not just for laundry

Since we are on the topic of laundry, and since I still have about 8 loads to do myself, AND I seem to keep running out of time to write my recaps from laundry training.…I thought I would share a fun tip my Latte Fairy friend shared with me.

Wood Clothespins

They’re not just for laundry.

Truly, NUMEROUS uses.

But her favorite is to leave them in a jar in their family’s pantry.
Everyone knows how to use them, and then…

resort, laundry, no kids...oh my!

Last week I had the privilege and pleasure of attending “laundry training” with Bosch in Arizona…seriously, how awesome is that!  Bosch hosted a “Hampers to Hangers” event to offer laundry tips as well as organizational tips from The Container Store.  Sounds so silly to WANT to learn better tips for doing your laundry, but that is exactly what we did and it was amazing!  Not only was Bosch an exceptional host, but we stayed at a beautiful resort in Scottsdale.  So this week, I…

my secret revealed...

OK, OK, it’s time to let the secret out of the bag…

If Kelly Ripa is going to be honest, I might as well tell you too.

For everyone that wondered how I had a baby and a few minutes later my hair was “perfect”
(if you say so)

And HOW I can get it all done in a day???

You TOO can use this FAVORITE!!

(Disclosure, I found this video on the Whatever…. site when I was looking up a rainbow cake tutorial and could not stop crying, laughing!  Regular post will be back tomorrow!!)

700 hours in a day? nope, but how about an extra 2??

(In case you can’t figure this photo out,
this is Hayden playing “peek-a-boo” in my skirt, pretty typical of my day.)

When I first started writing this blog, my goal was to share tips and favorites that help our family out.  And that is still my goal.

But we’ve had a lot going on between launching the blog last October and welcoming little Piper’s arrival 4 weeks ago…now we are doing our best to adjust to this new life!  And it’s NUTTY!  So often throughout the day…

tab it baby!

You all are TOTALLY going to laugh at me!  But if you are OCD or any kind of over the edge organized person (or WANT to be that kind of person, because you know some of you do) you will love this little find!

I am never happy with my “To Do” lists.

I keep most things on my computer and therefore synced to my phone, but I have never really gotten into keeping lists for particular projects on my computer.  I tend to use them so much…

pretty, pretty perideau designs!

Happy Monday Everyone!

First off, a quick apology.  It seems Feedburner has been playing some selective tricks with the MFE Readers & Followers and randomly deciding who it wants to send daily subscriptions to and who it doesn’t, and it changes throughout the week.  So, we switched our subscription service this past weekend.  You will now be receiving your daily emails through Mail Chimp.  I’m doubly crossing my fingers that this solves the problem for everyone, but please let me know if anyone is stil having issues.

Thank you!!

Now onto the fun for

picture hall of fame

I was asked about good tips for hanging pictures.

I wish I was the perfect one to ask.

This is one of those times that I knew would happen when you would see that I’m not really perfect and that I truly just wing it in a lucky way 90% of the time!

Here goes anyway.

I love photos.

Always have, always will.

If you’ve been reading my blog, then you know I’m addicted to photos that

still organizing...

Yep, organizing is still going on in our house.

And I know I’ve written about this great feature The Container Store has,
but I just have to tell you about it again.

Has anyone ever used their “Click and Pickup” feature online???  HEAVEN ON EARTH!!  I swear, more places should have a feature like this.  I don’t necessarily need things delivered to my door, though there are definitely times that that is helpful, (which is why I love Amazon and…
